Early Morning Reflections

The low sun breaking the horizon is like a spotlight on these trees. What caught my eye was the texture of the fallen branch against the stillness of the water surface.

PHOTO TIP: To make the most of a scene like this, and draw attention to the reflections, it is important to have enough "body" below the reflections. Notice how most of the picture is taken up by the river. And using a vertical or "portrait" format takes the eye down to the reflections and gives a feel for the water.
