Dawn at Shelley Beach Ballina, NSW, Australia As the sun rises on the most eastern part of the Australian coast, it paints rocks along the shoreline with its early rays. This picture was taken at Ballina, NSW, in September. Towards the top of the picture, you can just see the line of sand between the beach and the small dune. Photo Tip: For shots like this, use a vertical format to emphasize the connection between the close foreground and the distant horizon. Use a small aperture, and focus on a close object, rather than the horizon. Fram the picture so that the eye starts at the bottom, sweeps to the top, and returns to the bottom for a better look. Keep a little sky, but not too much. |
