Ballona Creek and Wetlands

Here is a collection of images that I have captured, selected and prepared that show aspects of Los Angeles’ Ballona Creek and Wetland. The catchment area, or “watershed” extends as far as Silver Lake in the north east, and Mulholland Drive to the north.

These days, most of the creek is under the surface of paved streets, emerging near Culver City, where it runs out to sea, taking along with it all that it collects on its journey. Some is filtered naturally through the soil in what’s left of the all-important wetlands near Marina Del Rey.
